Theme: Baltic Midsummer meets San Diego summer nights.

Flower crowns. Sauna sessions. Sunset paddling. Bonfires. Music. Community.

Inspired by the centuries-old Midsummer traditions celebrated across Northern Europe, we're bringing a little bit of the magic of Jāņi to Mission Bay—with a Paddle Boarding SD twist.

What We're Doing

For one night, Ski Beach becomes our own midsummer celebration.

We'll start the evening with a mobile sauna on the beach, gathering with friends old and new before launching into Mission Bay for a sunset paddle around Vacation Isle.

As the sun drops below the horizon, we'll return to Ski Beach where the celebration continues with more sauna sessions, a massive bonfire, beats on the beach, and an unforgettable summer night under the stars.

The longest day deserves the longest celebration.

What to Bring

• SUP/board + leash• PFD (waist-belt OK) & whistle• White light or headlamp for return paddle• Water & hydration• Towel for sauna• Warm layer for later in the evening• Dry bag / phone case• Flower crowns, summer attire, or Midsummer-inspired outfits encouraged

Safety & Etiquette

• Stay with the group during the paddle• Follow lead and sweep paddlers• No glass on the beach or boards• Respect sauna guidelines• Leave no trace• Route may adjust based on conditions
